Getting Started

Fits better every time you wear it.

How to put them on, what to expect in the first few sessions, and where they earn their keep.

How to Wear Them

Position the pad Rest the leather pad flat across your palm, centered under your fingers — this is the side that meets the bar.
Loop the strap Slide the thin strap around the base of your middle finger. It should sit on the back of your hand — the pad itself never wraps around to that side.
Adjust and go Snug is right — no pinching, no sliding when you close your fist. Chalk up as usual if that's part of your routine.
Break-In Period

It's built to work from set one.

Torn & Taped is ready to go the first time you put it on — no waiting period required before your first heavy session.

That said, it's genuine leather, so it behaves like it: the first few sessions it'll feel a little structured, and over the next several it softens and molds to the shape of your grip, creasing exactly where your hand closes most. Most customers say the fit noticeably improves after about a week of regular use — comfort goes up, and you stop thinking about it mid-set.

Built For

Deadlifts & Rack Pulls

The single biggest tear risk in most people's training — heavy pulls under a static bar. This is the exact pressure point the pad is built to cover.

Pull-Ups & Rows

No wrist strap to fight with mid-set, and no bulk getting in the way of a full grip around the bar.

Kettlebells & Farmer Carries

Repetitive, sustained contact is where cheap grips fail fastest — leather holds up to it without chalk or dust.

Everyday Training

On in seconds, off just as fast between exercises — one pair covers the whole session, not just your heaviest lift.

Quick Care Tip

Wipe down with a dry or barely damp cloth after sweaty sessions and let them air dry away from direct heat — that's what keeps genuine leather supple instead of stiff. Full care and durability details are on our FAQ page.
